Where We Goin’?
We go on hikes that fall into three categories:
Leisure:
Flat ground and frequent breaks. Suitable for all ages and abilities! Often 1.5 - 2 hours.
Adventure:
Uneven ground but clear paths. Be ready for a light workout! Often 3 - 4 hours.
Journey:
Difficult terrain with amazing views. For frequent hikers! Often a day trip.
Examples of each are included at the end of the page.
What’s it like?
“When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
and hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
and see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee,
how great Thou art!”
God’s creation shouts His praises! Each hike is broken into 3 parts: Request, Behold, and Rejoice. Heading out we ask a question, something that’s on our hearts. Near the middle, or at the zenith of the hike, we recognize the beauty God has surrounded us with, and as we head back to our cars we rejoice in the peace God provides.
Schedule
Hikes will be every other Saturday starting in March 2025. The location will vary (sign up to get up to date locations and times), but difficulty will follow the following pattern:
Leisure, Adventure, Leisure, Adventure, Journey
***Leisure and Adventure hikes will be canceled, not rescheduled, if there is rain. Journey dates, should there be poor weather, will be rescheduled to the following Saturday if the weather is likely to improve.***
